Starting over means retyping everything

Starting over means retyping everything

You already have a CV — an old PDF, or a Word file from three jobs ago. Every new CV tool asks you to copy it back in, field by field: titles, companies, bullet points. Most people give up halfway and keep sending the old one.

Drop in the file — every entry lands in the right place
The solution

Drop in the file — every entry lands in the right place

Upload your CV and Twin CV reads it for you, then sorts what it finds into sections:

  • Profile: name, contact details, summary and social links.
  • Experience and education, with titles, places and years.
  • Skills, languages, certificates, projects and anything extra.

PDF, Word (DOCX) and plain text all work, up to 10 MB. When it's done you see how many entries landed in each section — and a warning if anything had to be skipped.

Your only copy is a scan or a phone photo
The problem

Your only copy is a scan or a phone photo

Sometimes the CV exists only as a scanned PDF, an image someone sent you, or a photo of a printed page. Most CV builders reject it outright: “No text found.”

It reads scans and photos too
The solution

It reads scans and photos too

When a file has no selectable text, Twin CV reads the page itself — text recognition for scanned PDFs and JPG, PNG or WebP images, in English and Turkish. Photos taken sideways are straightened automatically, and dark designs get a second pass. If a photo is too blurry to read, you're told so: retake it, or paste the text into the chat instead.

An old CV is still an old CV

An old CV is still an old CV

Getting your data in is only half the job. The CV you had was written for a different role, a different year and a different you — importing it as-is just moves an outdated document to a new place.

The assistant picks up where the file left off

Once imported, every entry is editable — and the assistant can work on it with you: tighten the summary, turn duties into results, fill in what's missing, translate it into another language. Add the file's entries to what you already have, or clear your old CV first and start from the file; either way your link, your photo and your visitor history stay put.

How to import yours
Three steps

How to import yours

  1. Open Quick CV — or CV Import in your account — and upload your file.
  2. Check the result section by section. Fix any detail by hand, or just tell the assistant what's wrong.
  3. Keep improving by chat, then share your CV as a link.

CV import is part of every plan, including Free — see pricing.

FAQ

Questions about importing your CV

A visitor asks a question at a help desk and the twin robot answers it
Which file types can I upload?

PDF, Word (DOCX), plain text (TXT) and images (JPG, PNG, WebP), up to 10 MB. Older .doc files and password-protected PDFs aren't supported — save them as DOCX or an unlocked PDF first.

Does it work with scanned CVs?

Yes. Scanned PDFs and photos are read with text recognition, in English and Turkish. For scans, the first three pages are read — enough for almost every CV.

Is my photo imported too?

No — only the text. Add your photo to your profile afterwards; it takes a few seconds, and it's the photo your public twin page shows.

What if something lands in the wrong place?

Everything is editable after the import. Fix it by hand, or tell the assistant — “my title at Acme was Senior Engineer” — and it corrects the entry.

Is it free?

Yes. Importing and editing your CV is part of the Free plan, and you can even try it in Quick CV without an account.
