Every CV is a guess
A CV is written in advance, for a reader you will never meet, answering questions you can only predict. You compress years of work into two pages, cut the projects that don't fit, and hope the parts you kept are the parts that matter to this particular reader. Then the file leaves your hands — and goes quiet.
That silence is the real limitation of the static PDF. Not the format, not the fonts: the fact that it cannot respond. A hiring manager reads "led the migration to a new platform" and immediately wants to know which platform, how large the team was, what broke along the way. The document has no answer. If the question matters enough, you get an interview. Far more often, the reader simply moves on to the next file in the pile.
Readers don't read — they interrogate
Watch anyone scan a CV and you'll notice they aren't reading top to bottom. They are hunting for answers to a short list of questions they already have in mind:
- Has this person done the specific thing we need done?

A static CV can only serve these questions by anticipating all of them, which is impossible, or by growing longer, which makes everything harder to find. This is the trap of the traditional format: the more completely you answer in advance, the less readable the document becomes.
